Have you ever asked yourself, “What is my home worth?” but don’t know what it takes to get a home price estimate?  When trying to determine your home’s value, it’s important to consult with a real estate professional who knows the market in which you live.

So many of the values provided by online services such as Zillow are determined using algorithms, guesses and estimates that are incorrect. An actual real estate agent in your area is the only one who can provide an accurate picture of what your home is worth.

Home valuation is a process in which a qualified real estate professional provides you with an estimate of the monetary value of your home and property.  Getting a house value estimate is an important step in selling a home in order for you to make an informed decision regarding pricing your house prior to placing it on the market. Knowing a home’s fair market value is key to determining the best sales price.

There are other reasons for determining house value.   A home worth estimate may need to be done for tax purposes.  When you see an increase in your property taxes but feel like they’re much higher than they should be, getting a tax appraisal can, in some cases, save you money.  For example, when the county tax office sends your property tax bill and you feel the estimated value of your home is too high, you could hire an appraisal to determine if the value of your home is actually below their estimate.  If that’s the case, you could qualify for lower property taxes. A home valuation will make sure the home value reflects current market conditions.

Another reason for a house price estimate is when you want to refinance an existing mortgage.  In other words, you may want to refinance to take advantage of a lower mortgage rate (aka: lower monthly mortgage payment).  Getting a house valuation may be required to be eligible to refinance and, as a result, could save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars a year.

As you can see, there are many reasons to get a property valuation. Get a free home value estimate and, the next time you ask yourself “How much is my house worth?”, you’ll be confident in knowing the fair market value.
